  • GreynirSeq Domain Translation Pipeline (22.06)

    This is a pipeline for creating GreynirSeq domain-aware translation models. A valid checkpoint of a base translation model based on mBART25 can be finetuned as a domain translation model. The resulting model can be queried using a label for the requested domain. We recommend the English -- Icelandic translation models available in https://repository.clarin.is/repository/xmlui/handle/20.500.12537/125 . The included preprocess script expects a .tsv input file with the three fields (domains, english, icelandic), this is the training corpus. The script finetune.sh can be run to fine tune the model until convergence. Finally, one can run evaluate.sh to compute BLEU over the development set of Flores. See the README file for further details on setting up an environment and fetching data.
  • Slowal

    Slowal is a web tool designed for creating, editing and browsing valence dictionaries. So far, it has mainly been used for creating The Polish Valence Dictionary (Walenty). Slowal supports the process of creating the dictionary; it also facilitates access by making it possible to browse the dictionary using an advanced built-in filtering system, covering both syntactic and semantic phenomena. Slowal also gives control over the work of lexicographers involved in creating dictionary, for instance by using predefined lists of values, which prevents spelling errors and enforces consistency, as well as by imposing strict validation rules. Last but not least, the created dictionary can be exported from Slowal in various formats: plain text, TeX, PDF, and TEI XML.

    Annotald is a program for annotating parsed corpora in the Penn Treebank format. For more information on the format (as instantiated by the Penn Parsed Corpora of Historical English), see the documentation by Beatrice Santorini. Annotald was originally written by Anton Ingason as part of the Icelandic Parsed Historical Corpus project. This version of Annotald has been adapted for the parsing schema used in GreynirPackage, Miðeind's rule-based deep parser. Annotald is available under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 3 or (at your option) any later version.     GreynirPackage is a Python 3 package for working with Icelandic natural language text. Greynir can parse text into sentence trees, find lemmas, inflect noun phrases, assign part-of-speech tags and much more. Greynir's sentence trees can inter alia be used to extract information from text, for instance about people, titles, entities, facts, actions and opinions.   • Slovene Conformer CTC BPE E2E Automated Speech Recognition model RSDO-DS2-ASR-E2E 2.0

    This Conformer CTC BPE E2E Automated Speech Recognition model was trained following the NVIDIA NeMo Conformer-CTC recipe (for details see the official NVIDIA NeMo NMT documentation, https://docs.nvidia.com/deeplearning/nemo/user-guide/docs/en/stable/asr/intro.html, and NVIDIA NeMo GitHub repository https://github.com/NVIDIA/NeMo). It provides functionality for transcribing Slovene speech to text. The training, development and test datasets were based on the Artur dataset and consisted of 630.38, 16.48 and 15.12 hours of transcribed speech in standardised form, respectively. The model was trained for 200 epochs and reached WER 0.0429 on the development and WER 0.0558 on the test dataset.

  • Tiro TTS web service (22.06)

    Tiro TTS is a text-to-speech (TTS) API web service that works with various TTS backends. By default, it expects a FastSpeech2+Melgan+Sequitur backend. See the https://github.com/cadia-lvl/fastspeech2 repository for more information on the backend. The service can accept either unnormalized text or an SSML document and respond with audio (MP3, Ogg Vorbis or raw 16 bit PCM) or speech marks, indicating the byte and time offset of each synthesized word in the request. The full API documentation in OpenAPI 2 format is available online at tts.tiro.is. The code for the service along with further information is on https://github.com/tiro-is/tiro-tts/releases/tag/M8.
